Ohad Etzion, MD

Ohad Etzion is Director, Department of Gastroenterology & Liver Diseases, at Soroka University Medical Center, in Beersheba, Israel. Previously, he served as Clinical Research fellow, Liver Diseases Branch, National institutes of Health, Bethesda MD. Dr. Etzion has also served as Senior physician, Department of Gastroenterology & Liver Diseases, Soroka University Medical Center.

Dr. Etzion earned his MD in Medicine from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Beersheba, Israel. He has earned the designation for outstanding MD thesis, Faculty of Health Sciences, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. He has also been awarded the annual prize for outstanding Intern, Soroka University Medical Center. He was recognized with an annual prize for outstanding research work, the Israeli Association of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Etzion is a member of the following associations: the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases; the European Society for the Study of Liver Diseases; the Israeli Association for the Study of Liver Diseases; the Israeli Gastroenterology Association; and the Society of Mucosal Immunology. His professional appointments include: board member, Israeli Association for the Study of Liver Diseases; member of the advisory board of the Israeli Medical Schools Licensure Examination Committee; and member, Oral examination Committee, Israeli Board of Internal Medicine. He is also a board member of the Israeli National Council of Gastroenterology, Liver Diseases and Nutrition; and a member of  the Oral Examination Committee at the Israeli Gastroenterological Association.
